My Top 5 Wedding Venues for Videography in Northern Ireland
With so many choices that tailor to your unique needs as a wedding couple, here's a quick guide to my top 5 wedding venues in Northern Ireland that lend themselves incredibly well to wedding videography.
Every wedding deserves to be recorded so that each wedding couple has a timeless wedding video to look back on for years to come.
Some venues are so charming that they cry out to be captured by a professional videography service.
Many of our wedding venues in Northern Ireland are breath-taking, and any wedding videographer worth their salt will dream of recording a wedding there. I’ve written in detail about the best wedding venues in Belfast, but this post is looking further afield.
When brides and grooms look back on their special day, it's crucial that they feel the same magic whenever they watch the wedding videography as they felt on the day itself.
With that in mind, here are my top 5 picks for Northern Ireland Wedding Venues that ooze elegance and fairytale romance.
The top 5 locations for wedding videos - Northern Ireland
Old Rectory, Killyman - historical character meets modern vibes
Tucked away in the quiet village of Killyman, County Tyrone, the Old Rectory offers something special: a rare combination of historic character, rural seclusion and modern wedding facilities. From the moment couples drive through the gates, over the old Trew & Moy railway bridge, to arrive at the 13‑acre estate, there’s a sense of escape from the everyday.
This 18th‑century rectory has been lovingly restored into a wedding destination - where the lush gardens, mature trees and multiple event spaces give couples a canvas to shape their day.
For videographers who care about storytelling, rhythm and scenic variety, this venue delivers: outdoor tranquility, interior charm, flexible spaces and that “hidden gem” feel which always makes for stronger visuals.
Location & Setting
Address: 38 Trewmount Rd, Killyman, Dungannon BT71 6RL.
Grounds: 13‑acre estate with majestic trees, manicured gardens and an 18th‑century Georgian house plus restored barns.
Arrival ambiance: The route over the old railway bridge adds character; the setting feels private, tucked away yet accessible
Setting suitability: Works across seasons with spring blossoms, summer green, autumn warmth, winter atmospheric grounds.
Ceremony & Reception Spaces
Ceremony options: The site is approved for weddings (civil, religious or humanist) and offers dedicated spaces including a botanical‑inspired “Garden Room” built in 2023.
Reception spaces: The estate includes an 18th‑century barn (for drinks/ceremony/early reception), a “Tepee” styled space and a glass‑framed oak “Pavilion” for the main celebrations.
Guest capacity: Up to 220 guests dining has been supported, see gettingmarried-ni.co.uk
Flexibility: The venue emphasises individuality and creativity, allowing couples to tailor the layout, décor and flow.
Accommodation & Additional Features
On‑site stay: Accommodation for 26 guests across the Georgian Manor (18) and Gate Lodge (8).
Getting ready: While the venue notes a “coming soon” dedicated getting‑ready facility (2025) as part of expansion.
Grounds for visuals: Extensive gardens, trees, lawns, restored barns and multiple spaces provide rich opportunities for videographers and photographers. Hannah Jane (The Art of Us Photography) photographer remarked:
“The grounds are incredible and it’s my favourite wedding venue in Northern Ireland.”
Why It Works For as a Videographer
Variety of backdrops: The mix of architectural details (barn, Manor house, pavilion), wide green spaces and intimate garden corners gives you multiple filming zones.
Flow & logistics: With ceremony, reception and accommodation all on site, you can manage transitions (prep → ceremony → portraits → party) with minimal travel.
Weather resilience: With strong indoor/off‑weather‑proof spaces (barn, Pavilion) plus outdoor options, it suits Northern Ireland’s variable climate.
Exclusivity: The sense of “private estate” helps you capture unhurried, story‑rich content rather than a venue with multiple simultaneous events.
Practical Details & Things to Check
Ceremony space: Double‑check which rooms are included (Garden Room, Barn, Pavilion) and whether any fee applies for each.
Guest numbers & evening: Confirm what’s the dinner seating capacity vs max headcount for evening party.
Contractor/vendor policies: As you’ll be filming, check for any restrictions (drone use, lighting / tripods, time limits for music) with the venue’s planner.
Accommodation: On‑site is for 26 guests, if the couple’s guest list is larger you’ll need alternate nearby lodging.
Accessibility & transport: While serene, note travel times (approx 40‑50 mins from Belfast in light traffic) and guest parking / drop‑off logistics.
Planning timeline: With recent building expansions (e.g., new ceremony room in planning). It’s wise to confirm completed features and delivery dates.
Why Couples Love It
Couples are drawn to the Old Rectory’s blend of warmth and uniqueness. It doesn’t feel like “just another wedding hall”; it feels like a private home turned into a dream venue. The mature gardens, the option to make the day your own, the relaxed but polished vib, all combine to make it feel intimate, stylish and memorable.
“Old Rectory Killyman… had our wedding there… couldn’t recommend it enough.” (Reddit)

Why Couples Love It
What truly makes Montalto special is how it manages to feel both luxurious and personal. It’s not a cookie-cutter venue, every wedding there feels unique, shaped by the couple’s story and the natural rhythm of the estate itself. The setting is peaceful, the staff are attentive, and the atmosphere is steeped in history without ever feeling formal or stuffy.

The castle provides plenty of photo opportunities with high beams and a historic element to this 17th century caslte with several indoor and outdoor spaces that can accommodate your ceremony and reception.
Ballygally Castle Hotel enjoys being at the heart of love, so they encourage suitors to make their proposals at the hotel, whether on the bay's golden sands or within the beautiful walled gardens. Book an overnight stay and let the staff know; they will be happy to help make it extra special.
The Ballygally Castle Hotel offers a Wedding Package that includes the use of their civil ceremony suite, or outside on a sunny day, or in their new purpose made ceremony garden room (one of my favourite ceremony rooms to film in). Whenever I get the opportunity to be the wedding videographer at Mageheramorne Estate, I jump at the chance and I know it's going to be an enjoyable day.
Bonus: A unique wedding video location in Belfast
Many of the bigger locations for Northern Ireland wedding videos are slightly outside of Belfast. But within Belfast are a few hidden gems.
One of my favourites is The Ulster Museum, which offers the Belfast Room and The Atrium for wedding receptions. The Atrium is a bright and airy space perfect for your wedding breakfast in modern surroundings, while the Belfast Room has a traditional simplicity for more modest weddings. If you need a great wedding video Belfast location, The Ulster Museum is well worth a look.
Proud to be a Wedding Videographer in Northern Ireland.
Living and working in Northern Ireland as a wedding videographer allows me access to some of the most beautiful locations in the world. As a Northern Ireland Wedding Videographer, I am spoiled for choice with the locations that the couples I work with choose.
Whether exploring the beauty of the sites I've highlighted above or finding a unique location like The Ulster Museum, I am always excited to capture the story of a couple's wedding day.
Most wedding videographers will say that the best part of their job is getting to know the couples they work with and hearing about their love story. I am no different. But for me, being a Northern Ireland Wedding Videographer also means doing what I love in some of the most stunning locations imaginable.
If you're planning a wedding in Northern Ireland, I would be honoured to capture your story, just contact me for more information.
